Kitchenaid Coffee Grinder

I love my Kitchenaid coffee grinder. I got it as a moving in present and it is the best item in my kitchen. There is nothing like the aroma of freshly ground coffee to get you moving in the morning or the evening or in fact at any time. I probably drink too much but hey life is too short to worry about it. I don’t need to worry about my machine breaking down either as Kitchen Aid has a fantastic reputation for customer service. The product comes with a two year unconditional guarantee.

This is not a nasty discount product but you wouldn’t really expect that when it costs almost $200. You can find great deals on this unit if you shop around but always buy from a recognized retailer. You want to be sure you are buying the genuine article and not a rip off. Don’t let the price put you off. There are cheaper grinders on the market but they aren’t as well designed or as well built. Try buying a discount model and see how far you get with the manufacturer when it breaks down after a couple of uses.

Kitchenaid Conical Burr Grinder Is Top Of The Line

My Kitchen Aid conical burr grinder doesn’t have a spot of cheap plastic on it. The machine is made of die cast metal and glass. The flavor of the coffee is persevered by the fact that the burrs turn at 450rpm thus there is minimal frictional heating. This can cause the burnt flavor you associate with the drinks produced by lesser quality burr grinders.

Not only does it look great, but this is a really quiet machine. It makes uniform grinds of coffee, great if you are an espresso drinker. The instruction manual is really easy to follow and you will find simple to use directions on how to calibrate the grinder to get a finer grind if required. The whole process is very quick as well so you don’t have to find some patience first thing in the morning.

Don’t be tempted to use cheap coffee with this machine. That would be an insult. Use only quality coffee beans. Try different types as well as there is a whole world of tastes and textures to be explored. Just don’t buy too much as it isn’t filled with preservatives so won’t keep for too long. If you buy roasted whole beans, they will last stored at room temperature for between one to two weeks. These beans release carbon dioxide gas so if you don’t have valve bags then open the container once a day for the first few days to let this gas out.

I am sure that won’t be a problem anyway given the amount of coffee you are likely to be drinking as you play with your new Kitchen Aid conical burr grinder. Don’t use metal or plastic containers to store the beans as these can contaminate the taste of your coffee. You should use a ceramic pot but if you have to use glass put it in a dark cupboard.

The only complaint I have with my Kitchen Aid coffee grinder is the feet. The screw on each one seems to be a little long and that could scratch your counter top if you move the machine around. It is only a minor issue as attaching self adhesive protectors will resolve it but it did mildly irritate me that the manufacturer hadn’t thought of doing this themselves!
